Louise Ester Mosher1

F, #6161, (1886 - 1954)
FatherStephen Benjamin Mosher1 (1850 - 1937)
MotherAugusta Clara Demone1 (c 1863 - 1904)

Child of Louise Ester Mosher and Clarence William Corkum

Louise Ester Mosher appeared on the 1901 Census of First South, Lunenburg County, in the household of her parents, Stephen Benjamin Mosher and Clara Mosher.2 Louise Ester Mosher appeared on the 1911 Census of First South, Lunenburg County, in the household of her father, Stephen Benjamin Mosher, under the name Louisa. She was recorded as "Wife", with a birthdate of 1868. I believe the census taker made an error - see discussion in the note below.3 Louisa Ester is recorded as Louisa (Lousia actually), and as "Wife", M(arried), with a birth date of Aug 1868, age 43. I believe these details are incorrect. Her date of birth was reported (by a daughter) on her death certificate as 5 Aug 1886. For comparison, the 1901 Census has her date of birth as 5 Aug 1887, under the name Ester. I think the census taker made the most common of all errors in recording numerical data, a transposition of digits, and wrote 1868 instead of 1886. Further, I think the other information may have been added later, based on this incorrect birth date. It would result in an age of 43, and in a household where the mother (Clara) of the children had died (so Louisa herself may well have been the informant) it would be natural to think later that Louisa was the mother, and married to Stephen Sr. Note that Louise was 24 at the time (assuming my interpretation) and would marry in another year and a half.
