Children of John Graham MacCara and Mary Elizabeth MacKay

The following anecdote was told to me by Eldon MacCara, via his daughter Rachel:

When John Graham's father John MacCara died in December 1912, John Graham and his wife of three months, Mary Elizabeth (nee MacKay), moved back into the family homestead to help look after the farm and family. John Graham's sister Mary Isabel MacCara was still living at home at the time, so to distinguish the two Mary's they were known as MarI and MarE.

John Graham MacCara was born on 16 August 1883 in Plainfield, Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Canada.1 He married Mary Elizabeth MacKay, daughter of John Duncan MacKay and Barbara Ann (Annie) Murray, on 15 September 1912 in Plainfield, Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Canada.2 John Graham MacCara died on 14 August 1943 in Nova Scotia, Canada.3
